The Matfer Bourgeat 11" (28cm) carbon-steel fry pan delivers superior heat retention and precise temperature control, making it ideal for searing meats, frying eggs, sautéing vegetables, grilling fish, and preparing a variety of dishes. Constructed from natural black carbon steel, it develops a smooth, naturally nonstick surface with proper seasoning, free from PTFE and PFOA.

Quick and Easy Order Prep
We’re excited to get your Chef Grade gear to you as soon as possible! Orders typically ship within 1-2 business days. Orders placed with a FedEx Express shipping option and ordered before noon (12PM Eastern Time, Monday–Friday), are shipped out the same business day.
Your Shipping Options
We offer reliable shipping through UPS, USPS and FedEx, as well as DHL for most international orders. To ensure your new kitchen favorites arrive safely and on time, please double-check your shipping address during checkout. Unfortunately, we can't be responsible for orders delayed or lost due to incorrect addresses.
Shipping Rates:
- US Standard Shipping is a flat $6.95 fee for unders under $100. Orders $100 or more ship FREE. Items in your order may ship separately using multiple carriers.
- FedEx Express (Overnight & 2-Day) are based on carrier rates. Rates depend on the weight and volume of your order, as well as your distance from our distribution center in Connecticut.
- DHL International Orders are based on carrier rates. It depends on what is being shipped - additional customs fees and taxes may apply upon arrival. These are beyond our ability to control and calculate.
Domestic Shipping:

FedEx Overnight and 2-Day orders typically arrive as promised, after 1-2 business days of processing.
- FedEx and UPS Ground orders generally arrive within 2-5 business days within the contiguous 48 states.
- USPS shipping usually arrives within 2-5 business days, although exact timing can vary. USPS does not provide guaranteed delivery dates.
International Shipping:
- DHL international shipping typically arrives within the timeframe indicated at checkout.

We understand that things can change, and we'll always try our best to help! Changes or cancellations can be requested during business hours (Mon–Fri, 9 AM–5 PM EST, excluding holidays). While we can’t promise changes will always be possible, we’ll certainly do everything we can to make them.
Please note: We can't modify your shipping method, items ordered, or payment details after purchase. If something needs adjusting, please place a new order with the correct details and contact us immediately to request cancellation of the original order.

30-Day "Perfect Fit" Returns
Chef Grade offers a hassle-free 30-day return policy. You have 30 days from the date of receiving your item to request a return for any reason.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition you received it with the exception of our Cookware-specific return policy detailed below, all returns must include their original packaging. Please retain your proof of purchase.
To initiate your return, contact us at hello@chefgradegear.com. If your return request is approved, we will provide a prepaid return shipping label and detailed instructions on how to return your package. Please use the original shipping box or envelope you received your order in to ensure your return is accepted and processed as quickly as possible. Items returned without prior approval will not be accepted.

Damages and Issues
Please inspect your items upon delivery. If your item arrives defective, damaged, or incorrect, contact us immediately so we can address and correct the issue promptly.
Cookware Return Policy
Products such as pots, pans, baking sheets, most cutlery and other products where specified can be returned during the 30-day period if "lightly-used". We know that sometimes a product isn't a good fit, and you might not know until you've tried using it.
We define "Lightly-used" as free of signs of misuse, whether from using improper utensils for the cooking surface or heat abuse, etc. Products should be thoroughly cleaned and dried prior to shipment with no visible food residue or carbon. We cannot accept product returns that show signs of rust or physical damage that was not disclosed prior to your return being approved. Please ensure you follow pre-use and care directions when provided for specific products - this is particularly important for Carbon Steel, Enameled or Cast Iron cookware.
As stated above, if an item arrives defective, damaged, or incorrect please contact us immediately upon receiving your order and take photos of the issue. Please note: items marked as final sale or clearance are never eligible for returns.
Exceptions / Non-returnable Items
Certain items are ineligible for returns unless unused/unopened and their original packaging is fully intact, including:
- Utensils and smallwares (such as kitchen tools, measuring spoons, spatulas, tongs, and similar small items)
- Perishable goods (such as food, herbs and spices, etc.)
- Custom products (special orders or personalized items)
- Personal care or cleaning products
- Hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases
- Final Sale/Clearance items
- Gift cards

Exchanges
To exchange an item, simply return the original item following our return process, and place a separate order for the new item.
European Union 14-Day Cooling-Off Period
For merchandise shipped to the European Union, you have the right to return your order within 14 days without justification. Items must be unused, in original packaging, and accompanied by proof of purchase.
Refunds
We will notify you once we've received and inspected your returned item. If your refund is approved, it will automatically be processed to your original payment method within 10 business days. - If a product fails during normal use, we’ll replace it — no runaround.

Pre-ordering secures cookware from our first production run with some of the biggest discounts we will ever offer on your entire order. You're also guaranteed to not miss out if we sell through the initial batch.

At checkout we place a $1 authorization on your card to lock in your order. The remaining balance is captured when we are ready to ship (currently scheduled for July 1, 2025). You will receive an email at every key step: order placed, balance charged, shipped, delivered.

$1 is authorized today. The rest is charged on July 1, 2025, or on the revised ship date if that changes. We always email at least 48 hours before any new charge dates.
We will not charge you earlier than the stated date at the time you place your order.
If your payment method is declined, you will need to place a new order - contact hello@chefgradegear.com with both order numbers and we can re-apply the Founders Discount if needed.

If production or freight delays move our ship window, we will email you with the new date and offer a full, no-questions refund if the timing no longer works for you.
